Mozi

P2P Botnet malware - Mozi is a peer-to-peer botnet leveraging DHT protocols.

Mozi is a sophisticated peer-to-peer botnet that connects infected devices using a decentralized DHT (Distributed Hash Table) protocol. It can execute commands remotely provided by its master and is capable of spreading through devices with weak Telnet passwords or by exploiting known vulnerabilities. Mozi’s design enhances network integrity by using cryptographic methods to authenticate configurations and commands it receives. The botnet is notable for its ability to evade detection by blending its traffic with benign DHT traffic.

Mozi targets devices using weak Telnet credentials and exploits vulnerabilities to propagate through networks.
